“ This is a must do and a 11/10 experience if you’re in Galle. Book a table ahead and come during sunset time, the pomegranate and passion fruit gin cocktail was my favourite. End your night with the “pulled me cake” The views are immaculate and the service is unmatched. Special thanks to Thilana who was sweet enough to recommend other spots in town for us to try out to too. ”
“ Our waiter Lahiru was kind and attentive, answered all our questions and was extremely polite. Food was spectacular! On our arrival we were sat outside a little rain came and we went inside along with everine else, once our drinks arrived the rain has stopped and Lahiru asked if we would like to go back out, he took our drinks and helped us go back outside which was lovely ad we had mentioned how beautiful it was outside. Nothing was too much trouble, highly reccomend! ”
“ Charleston Galla Fort, the best hotel during our a week stay in sri lanka. Way way beyond our expectation. Located in a small lane but has the best sea view of the fort. Very good taste designing , both interior and exterior. we had breakfast and dinner on the second floor, excellent food, excellent services. very helpful staffs. will come back again. ”
“ We have spent two night in Galle and visited the fabulous Charlie’s bar both nights at sunset time. It is such a great setting and perfect to relax, have a cocktail and watch the sun go down! The staff are all great, so cheerful and engaging. They seem very happy in their work. Special shout out to Herl who makes the best cocktails-especially Negronis!! He’s a lovely polite and confident man with great attention to detail with his cocktails. We highly recommend this bar. ”
“ A beautiful spot for a drink and nibbles to watch the sunset over the fort walls. The vibe was fantastic, a little more upmarket than most of Galle, but for a peaceful spot to watch the sun set and enjoy fantastic cocktails, cannot be beaten. (The steak fries were also fabulous!) Gorgeous interior, spotlessly clean and very modern. Staff were lovely, friendly, kind and very helpful. A special thank you to Hasun and to all the others who served me, wiping down the outside tables, organising a ginger tea for me, etc. Exceptional service. ”
“ Lovely place to watch the sunset however good idea to book in advance for this as it is a very popular location. The whole property exudes luxury unlike many places in Sri Lanka. We enjoyed sharing dishes between us with drinks and the Tuna Tartar was amazing. Drinks prices range from 700LKR for a lion (330ml) to 3500LKR for some of the more premium cocktails. Beware that the VAT is not included on the menu which is a first for me while being here, so a deceptively cheap beer or cocktail will cost you more than you think when you add the VAT and service charge. ”

The location is incredible, offering a stunning sunset view that makes the visit even more special. The staff was very attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. This was my second time visiting, and it was even better than the first! I’ll definitely be back. A special thanks to Ivo for his hospitality the first time—we truly appreciated the extra care, including arranging a taxi and making sure we were taken care of until it arrived. Amazing food (although the hot butter calamari felt a little sugary for my palette) the catch of the day & “pull me” dessert was very good. I loved the Ceylon old fashioned throughout! ”
